photo submission from alex long

blog29.gifme personnally(and i feel brad p will agree) when you see a series of stuff from somebody it helps to get an insite maybe on more of the photo taker than the subject. recently i announced a photo submission contest for a limited board and as you know i ve been getting some(just check the comments from matt c s latest post) well alex longs’ stuff came along and i was stoked.

it will be really exciting to see where he goes and what he builds with his camera.

video or photo doesn t mean shit really until you find your own signature.

Moments before this happened Max Rentz was trying a simple Airwalk board mount and he landed on the tail of his board a bit too much, and well needless to say it popped up and slammed him in his eye.. a few stitches later and he’s fine.

I’ve know Alex Long and his brothers for at least 10 years; they come from a good family. They know what the fuck is up; his brother Ryan (who last I heard has been straight killing it) is a straight guru in the world of cinematography. What ever the fuck they do they do that shit well.
I do agree; through an artist’s photograph you can gain insight about the photographers extenuating circumstances. That is what being real is all about. in the famous words of Billy Rohan, “Do you”.
I remember when I went to mid school with his older brother Jay, we had this art class and all we did was draw pictures of yoked-out motherfuckers kicking down telephone poles..

Dope Photo-stick a tampon in that bloody nose and lets make shit happen.

you totally captured the moment, with no regard for the welfare of the subject, you unselfishly went out on on a limb and captured the pain and misery that is…………….. the life of an urban boarder.
